SCOOP

OK,OK, it's yet another sportster chopper on the blog- but when it's this good, who cares? I mentioned I'd be bringing some pix of a great bike I'd spotted round at my parts supplier, and here it is. It was built by Southampton's Attitude Customs- generally better-known for f*t tyre stuff- but they've nailled the classic look on this beauty. I'm not sure if that's a Flyrite frame, but it's deffo got a 1200 motor, S+S carb, shotblasted cases, and a heap of other cool stuff. Twisted chrome bars, brass risers and shift peg, nicely done heatwrapped pipes all look great, along with vintage avons and a very DicE-mag inspired squirt job. 'Scuse the crumby phone-pix, and I couldn't really get a good ancle on account of all the bikes in the yard.

You might notice a sidecar rig beneath a tarp. Ian (the parts guy) scored a shovel from Iran for 1500 sobs and is planning on a combo project. Screw ebay, that's what you call a proper deal.

Hokey ass

Where do you find unchopped 5-window bodies for roughly what you'd pay for a plastic repro?
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=7
where else?
This body style is way up my wish list, anyone seen that satin black unchopped 5 window with the white firewall? Wicked car and a massive inspiration to me, for sure.

Enjoy the last bank holiday friends, back to winter soon!

no more!

...no more pix from the battz open day. I can hear the collective sigh of relief already from all 3 of you. Well, not quite all finished- here's a 1200 sporty from Southampton's Attitude customs, which some of you may know as Si Harris, a well-known dude in the bike-building world. As for this one, which was up for 6 large, it's ok I guess: I saw another of his round at my parts supplier the other day which was WAY better than this, got pix natch, stay posted cos this other one's a cracker.

Sadly, as to the first pic, some fucka was trying to take the piss out of the event with a silly blue joke bike parked outside. To make matters worse, he even crashed the bastardos aftershow party. No class! We never made it out of the A-shar valley back in '68 to take this shit, no way mofo.

R n S

I just signed up properly to Rods n Sods, seems like a wicked online community forum. Mostly cars, but still cool. Check 'em out http://www.rodsnsods.co.uk/

Also, their classified prices for parts n cars seem a whole lot more 'enthusiast friendly' than egay!

...on a summer's day...or sum such BS...

this nifty all-steel rod was skulking amongst the billet and stock evos at battz's this year; real nice car, but he had the front to stick a £30K 'for sale' tag on it! yer 'aving a rum and coke, geez-ah.

local hero

I spotted this little gem on the way to pick up my littl'un from pre-school (yeh, rock n roll, I know!), back when Battz were round the corner from my gaff. It's a cracker, innit? I don't know much about it, except if it were in my shed, I wouldn't change a whole lot. Those simple lines give the lie to how much work went into it. Tidy chopper. Seat, zorst and rear fender get the full BASTARDOS seal of approval.

THE LONG RIDE

Well, after something of a summer break, LOS BASTARDOS is back to intrude further on your lives in a totally unnecessary way.

I managed to unload a bunch of pix off my phone, and I can safely say most are better than this lot. I took these after a nice ride back in June when there was still an orange thing in the sky. The idea was to catch an idea of the simple pleasures of biking, but I guess I didn't quite hit the mark! Suffice to say, there hasn't been too much riding since, smoking barrels and all, and no time to fix the fucker.

And Trawler...I gotta tell you the story of LOS BASTARDOS LONG RIDE. Man, we lost a lot of brothers that day. The road was hungry and then some. It's a mother load of white line fever from Boscome East to Southbourne, let me tell you, but the BASTARDOS were up to the challenge. I had to cradle a brother where he fell.

Whatever, stay tuned, cos we're back in business..see ya round!

TRAWLER AND SEAN WHAT A COUPLE OF STARS

Alright alright so every other bugger has already put up their pic's of the Hayride but I cant get my photos of the camera ! Yea bloody great. Everyone agrees that the Hayride truly is the show of shows.Man I loved it.They one chills out and has a fucking good laugh. No attitude or look how hard I am routines.Great.Those EXECUTIONERS did a fine job...well done lads and ladettes.

Nice to see Trawler and his crew.Infact the only photo I could download is one of him and his mate Sean.Classic

LARRY R.I.P.

I've been meaning to post some pics of Indian Larry's work for a while. He's probably my all-time chopper hero. No-one's done it quite like him, before or after- proper legend. I'm probably preaching to the converted here, but he was building stripped down 60s-style chops when every other fool was doing cold-sick billet garbage. First I saw of him was around 1996, he had an amazing flaked-out shovel masterpiece in 'Iron Horse' mag-remember that?- and it blew me away. Kinda makes you want to stop trying to design and build bikes, because you're not gonna top something like that. Larry sort of threw everything at his choppers, but they never looked too busy or laden with crap for the sake of it; he just had a great eye for detail and style. To say he was a hot rod great is an understatement, he's up there with Roth and Barris in terms of influence on the gearhead life. He did the write-up for that Horse feature, and was clearly an intelligent and articulate dude, too.

Gone but never forgotten.
